CGF-H2O Bali Exhibition
Constellations Global Reflections
H20 Edition 2
December 2024, Kura Kura, Bali, Indonesia
Constellations: Global Reflections H2O Edition embarks on a new chapter, focusing on humanity’s profound relationship with water through the eyes of artists from island nations and communities. Following its debut at the 2022 G20 Summit in Bali, the 2024 edition stands apart with a renewed purpose: highlighting the lived experiences of artists directly impacted by rising sea levels, water scarcity, and other urgent challenges. Inspired by the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, curator Lance Fung intentionally selected artists whose work reflects their immediate and personal encounters with climate change. This focus brings unparalleled authenticity and depth to the exhibition, transforming it into a vital platform for shared stories and solutions.

Twelve new artists were selected to create new artworks that would become a global platform dedicated to exploring inclusive and innovative solutions for critical water related issues, particularly in accelerating the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Themes range from water access, quality, sea level rise, and so many other urgent situations. The diverse and passionate group of artists for this second edition include: Alexis Rockman (USA), Citra Sasmita (Bali, Indonesia), Carlos Estevez (Cuba), Mariam Alnoaimi (Bahrain), Ragnar Axelsson (Iceland), David Gumbs (Martinique), Katie Holton (Ireland), Sid Natividad (Philippines), Donna Ong (Singapore), Gayan Prageeth (Sri Lanka), Abigail Romanchak (Hawaii), Michel Tuffery (New Zealand).
Each artist brings a deeply personal perspective, urging us to consider the interconnectedness of our actions and the ripple effects on global ecosystems. Together, they spotlight the critical need for worldwide cooperation and continued policy innovation to protect water—our most vital resource—and address the profound challenges of our time.
Fung Collaboratives curator Lance Fung emphasizes the transformative potential of art in addressing urgent global crises: “Through Constellations Global Reflections: H2O, each artist offers a deeply personal perspective on the critical need for global collaboration and policy changes to address environmental justice, sea level rise, ocean plastic pollution, and the restoration of empathy and humanity. This exhibition serves as a bridge, uniting us across social, ecological, and spiritual divides to inspire collective action toward sustainability.”
The launch of Constellations Global Reflections (CGR H20) forms part of the broader THK Universal Reflection Journey, which champions the theme of the 5Ps – People, Planet, Partnership, Peace, and Prosperity. Supported by the Government of Indonesia and blessed by Pope Francis, the events create momentum to build a more inclusive and sustainable future, echoing the principles of the SDGs.
